Overview:
The Commercial Analytics Manager is responsible for providing value-added analytical support to SGWS management and key strategic partners. This person works across commercial facing departments analyzing large amounts of retailer,
depletion, pricing and consumer data to deliver key insights and support. The position both supports and is a project lead for the Corporate Commercial Analytics team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with several data sources including internal and external sales, depletion, consumer and pricing data to deliver value-added insights
- Customize business, innovation, pricing, brand and industry reviews
- Create and maintain reporting and analytics to be leveraged throughout the commercial organization
- Develop insights and recommendations from data analysis
- Effectively communicate the insights and recommendations developed to senior-level audiences, both at SGWS and supplier partners
- Assist in the identification, development and deployment of analytical support
- Assist in managing Corporate Commercial Analytics tools that may include proprietary platforms, scan, consumer and pricing tools and data
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus five years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing research, category management, analytics or business intelligence in Wine & Spirits or Consumer Goods.
- 3 years in Category Management, analytics, sales or buying in Beverage Alcohol.
- Strong cross-functional team leadership, business analysis capabilities and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with category management and sales processes as well as pulling syndicated data.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.
- Ability to learn analytic tools quickly.
- Detail oriented with an analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Numerator, Nielsen Connect, SipSource, SalesNav and Compass.
- Extremely strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
Physical Demands:
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding a machine.
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs.
