SOUTHEAST CONNECTIONS LLC is Hiring a Director of Training Near Conyers, GA

Position Overview:

The Director of Training is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering Gas Operations training programs to new and current distribution construction field employees to meet specific customer-based requirements. This person will analyze and review training material as necessary to identify any training-related issues and implement new training strategies, to ensure the Company is satisfactorily meeting training objectives. This position will supervise and deliver training across departments in various locations requiring often out-of-town travel and hotel stays.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plans, prepares, and delivers technical and non-technical Construction Technician (CT), Energy Technician-Distribution
(ETD), and Lead Construction Technician (LCT) training programs for Distribution construction field employees and
external agencies.
• Searches for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety
among employees. Resolves any specific problems and tailors training programs, as necessary.

• Identifies future training needs and creates a curriculum to facilitate training.
• Communicates with management, trainers, and team members to ensure that all needs are met.
• Interprets and explains policies to employees in a manner consistent with Company guidelines and customer’s
requirements.

• Evaluates, rates, and determines employee ability to satisfactorily meet training objectives
• Provides technical advice to Distribution Staff, Field Operations Supervisors, Area Managers, and internal and external
consultants.

• Amends course material based on updated Gas Standards and customer needs.

• Conducts orientation programs and arranges on-the-job training for new hires, as necessary.

• Acts as work supervisor for employees during the class.

• Provides advice on methods to improve employee performance.

• Communicates the Company’s safety vision.

• Remains up to date on state and federal workplace safety regulations

Qualifications/Special Knowledge Skills:

• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.

• Requires extensive knowledge of field operations.

• Action-oriented and result-driven
• Requires outstanding oral communication skills in presenting and facilitating discussions and other learning activities.

• Ability to use facilitation and leadership skills in leading project teams
• Effectively addresses conflict. Displays personal integrity in all communications and actions. Genuinely listens to
others, treating others fairly and with respect.
• Ability to build a strong team and coach individuals to help them reach their full potential. Creates an environment
where people are motivated to perform at their best. Good collaboration and teamwork skills.

• Ability to foster an environment that promotes learning.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Must have the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and
develop, recommend, and implement solutions.

• Ability to understand issues relevant to the business and develop innovative solutions.
• Candidate must have expert knowledge of Company procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in writing outlines, lesson plans, job aids, course materials, tests, and training schedules.
• Demonstrates detailed knowledge of OHSA and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) guidelines

• A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams is highly desirable.

Education/Experience:

• BSc/MSc in Learning Development or relevant field

• 5 years of work experience as a Training Director, Training Manager, or similar role.

• Experience in the natural gas distribution industry is required.

• In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods.

• Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS)

• Valid Driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.
• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

• Able to bend, squat, stand and twist in awkward positions for extended periods.

• Ability to travel to other project sites.
