Overview

SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The Mission Partner Environment – Engineering Services (MPE-ES) team based out of Honolulu, Hawaii creates, manages and supports IT solutions for USINDOPACOM, its mission and its 5,000 customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical and time sensitive C2 strategies.

Responsibilities

Performs systems administration duties: installs, updates, supports MPE-ES server systems, virtual infrastructure and hosted applications including network-attached clients, user/service accounts and related components within the MPE-ES Area-of-Responsibility (AOR). Provides Tier-2 support to systems-related issues. Responsible for securing, modifying and troubleshooting aforementioned IT systems and related components. Implements approved systems changes and necessary maintenance in accordance with change control processes.

  • Proactively monitors MPE-ES server environment, measures performance, and reports operational status.
  • Responds to MPE-ES server-infrastructure incidents and related core-services. Inputs updates to incidents and service requests (tickets) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and communicates with internal and external teams, including MPE-ES users and partners.
  • Troubleshoots, researches and resolves issues with MPE-ES server systems and related components. Investigates and documents root-cause.
  • Secures (protects) solution components according to Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines.
  • Develops (updates) MPE-ES systems documentation (e.g., systems administration of new/current/legacy technologies) in addition to, as it pertains to, DoD accreditation requirements.
  • Provides guidance/training to administrators, staff and end-users on the assigned systems.
  • Provides status updates and briefings to MPE-ES management and Government customer(s), as required. Completes activity reports in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Participates in related solution technologies and special projects, as required.
  • Ensures compliance of custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components. Assists with life cycle of IT equipment: receiving, inventory, reporting and disposal.

Qualifications

  • An Active in-scope SECRET clearance.
  • Team-player. Willingness to assist. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, or SSCP)
  • 6 years of experience in systems administration, security operations or enterprise IT service center operations.
  • Extended knowledge of modern operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and related security configuration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in IT systems administration, troubleshooting and support with emphasis on Microsoft Windows Server technologies (e.g., Active Directory [Domain Controllers, User/Group Accounts, Computer Objects, GPO’s], DNS, DHCP, File/Print, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, WSUS).
  • Experienced in implementing and supporting VDI/Virtual Environments and solutions (e.g., Citrix, VMware, Azure Cloud/Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV).
  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with HCI, authentication protocols and C2 applications.
  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT Certification (e.g., Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, ITIL, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware)
  • Well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations.
  • Familiar with operating in classified environments.
  • Prior Help Desk/software experience (e.g., Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).
  • Awareness or experience in ITIL framework and ITIL best practices.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
