Overview

SOSi is seeking to hire a Solutions Architect to support our customer in Reston, Virginia. 

Responsibilities

• Acquire and configure IT gear for mid-sized team of linguist-analysts with attention to optimization of security and innovation; regularly evaluate new security standards and best practices for integration into IT topology; monitor updates/upgrades to all systems and test for potential problems before deployment.
• Respond to customer-initiated interactions by phone/message/email – troubleshoot technical difficulties either in-person or remote; may require local travel; create and distribute training/troubleshooting documentation.
• Provide initial and ongoing training on customer use and security of IT equipment; formulate/enforce policies in cooperation with program leadership and senior team members.
• Purchase equipment/software/services as needed for all technical activities using online and in-person payment systems; create/edit budget as part of a managerial team; manage business bank account expenditures and internal transfers; coordinate with corporate finance officials and program managers on account maintenance; keep diligent records and provide regular financial information to senior management.

Qualifications

• Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline.
• 0-3 years of experience in directing program activities to meet client and work objectives, and have served clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
• Overseas experience in contingency operations.
• Experience with DoD and DoS clients, and knowledge of the federal government market space for Base Life Support / Operations & Maintenance.
• Experience in the development, drafting, and writing of technical and program management solutions in responses to competitive Government Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Ability to multi-task; organize and prioritize multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Outstanding oral and written communications skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and real world experience deploying those skills.
• Top-notch customer demeanor, including patience, understanding, and empathy.
• Self-starter: able to learn a process and then contribute value to that process and teach that process to others.
• Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
• Knowledge of MacOS and Ubuntu Linux; understanding of network traffic principles, proxy infrastructure, and VPN configuration, including OpenVPN and Wireguard.
• Familiarity with online payment systems and cryptocurrency, in theory and in practice.

Working Conditions

• Working conditions as normal for an office environment.
• Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
