Overview

SOSi is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our corporate Finance team in Reston, VA. The position will support the Business Units Project Control team in all aspects of internal business unit reporting, budgets and forecasting. This is a collaborative role working with business unit project controllers and will report to the corporate FP&A manager.

The ideal candidate would be organized and analytical and someone who is an effective communicator and collaborator and has an interest in driving enhancements that will allow for operational efficiencies and cost savings. This position provides a great platform for growth and development as it provides visibility across all levels of the company.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and regularly update planning, forecasting, and budget models, of both direct and indirect departments and business units continuously innovating and improving the use and ease of interpretation for leadership.
• Identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the portfolio of programs and recommend actions based on analysis.
• Will work with key stakeholders in creating the corporate annual budget.
• Assemble and track monthly business trends by incorporating deliverables: including variance analysis of financial results and Key Performance Indicators.
• Review Business Unit Estimates at Completion (EAC) analysis.
• Support Monthly Accounting Close activities to include revenue and profit review and analysis, and indirect expense review and analysis vs plan.
• Identify corrective actions needed and work with Accounting staff to ensure business unit Profit & Loss accurately reflect financial performance.
• Monitor business unit A/R (invoicing and aged receivables) and work with PMs and Billing to minimize Days Sales Outstanding.
• Support Finance leadership in other ad hoc reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
• 3 years of experience demonstrating career progression and growing responsibility and scope.
• Government Contracting experience; Knowledgeable with principles of CAS, FAR and GAA.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos tools.
• Advanced Excel user including pivot tables, complex formulas and modeling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relay complex information concisely.
• Must be a self-motivated, energetic, critical thinker that is able to work with diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FocusPoint TM1 forecasting tool a plus.
• MBA or CPA a plus.
• Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
