Job Description Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing all food items to the Executive Chef’s and hotel standards. Job Description Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include: Key Job Functions Prepare and cook orders for daily operations Maintain constant quality control of all food prepared and cooked ensuring it is to standards Complete necessary food and station preparation Prepare and display buffet food items according to the hotel standards Support any position in the Kitchen that needs help Maintain the highest standards and requirements of hygiene and safety regulations Ensure efficient and accurate use of produce and equipment in and around the kitchen Maintain knowledge of all menus Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins and counters. Reports all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. Qualifications and Skills A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency. Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates. Strong communication skills Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor Must be available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, double shifts, occasional triple shifts, occasional split shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group environments to customers, clients, and or employees of organizations that we serve.
