Position Type: Full-Time, Summer 2023-2024 School year
Caseload: High School, 1:1
Pay Range: $30-$40/hr
Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications to students and maintain accurate records of their medical and medication information.
• Obtain and keep up-to-date health forms required by the school district, including immunization records, physical and dental exams, and other necessary documents.
• Conduct intake interviews with new and prospective students, documenting relevant information.
• Assess and develop emergency care plans for students with health concerns, ensuring preparedness for any potential emergencies.
• Acquire signed medical orders for student medications and, when necessary, communicate with doctors regarding medication or other health-related matters.
• Train teachers and classroom staff in the correct administration of medications and medical procedures such as suctioning, tube feeding (NG or G tubes), and administering medications through tubes.
• Maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of student information and records.
• Act as a health education resource for students and staff members.
• Order necessary medical equipment and supplies to meet the needs of students.
• Keep a detailed log of medical training sessions provided to the staff.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License orPractical Nurse license (LPN).
• Experience working as a nurse in a school, pediatric, or related healthcare setting (experience in an educational setting preferred).
• Strong clinical skills, including first aid, medication administration, and assessment of common childhood illnesses and injuries.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
