Software Tech Enterprises, Inc. is Hiring a Network Analyst Near San Antonio, TX

Software Tech Enterprises (STE) is an innovative Information Technology solutions and services provider, supporting federal agencies and companies in the public and private sectors.
STE is seeking to hire a Network Analyst for our client. This is a full time position that requires being on site and some remote time per the client needs.

Summary:This position is insupport the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) Contract

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will provide services related to designing, delivering and maintaining solutions for both secure and non­secure data communications systems which may include network management equipment, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) equipment, Internet Protocol (IP) equipment, channel banks, high to low level multiplex equipment, switching systems, Channel Service Units (CSU), Digital Service Units (DSU), wireless access points, encryption tools and interfaces, signal conversion and interface equipment.
  • This also includes all systems residing on the customer premise, beyond the carrier demarcation point.
  • This may include, but is not limited to, planning Data networks, designing infrastructure, as well as engineering, installing, testing, and maintaining network wired and wireless infrastructures.
  • Provide technical expertise in all matters of installation, implementation and maintenance for the USU network infrastructure.
  • Develop documentation and diagrams that support network engineering, transition, and
  • Apply network engineering principles, methods, and tools for integrating components (for example, network equipment, protocols, telephony) to meet the USU mission requirements.
  • Gather network information requirements using analysis of the Network Engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (Campus Area Network (CAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), Wide Area Network (WAN)).
  • Performs and supervises general voice and data network administration, provides technical leadership in the integration and testing of complex large-scale networks.
  • Schedules network conversions and cutovers and supervises maintenance of network systems.
  • With no guidance, deploys, configures, improves, and supports scalable production and corporate network infrastructure following enterprise best practices.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Extensive experience with Network Infrastructure management and Design as it relates to the architecture/topology of software/hardware/networks, including LANS/WANS, their components and associated protocols and standards, and how they integrate with one another.
  • Strong Layer 2/Layer 3 network architectural design and engineering background and experience (LAN/Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN)/WAN and Layer 2/Layer 3) in a large enterprise network environment.
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other applicable Networking Certifications
  • Ability to conduct activation, back-up, deactivation, and restart of network resources/services.
  • Ability to evaluate communication hardware and software, troubleshoot LAN/MAN/WAN and other network-related problems
  • Experience with SolarWinds and Cisco PRIME required
  • Candidate should have practical experience with protocols like Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), 802.1X, Etherchannel, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Firewalls and routers/switches
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
  • Working knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)/Splunk
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computers or Cyber Security
  • Active AWS or Google Cloud Platform certification is a plus
  • Exposure to Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) solution
  • Secret Clearance Preferred or able to obtain
