Our Softies are a diverse and globally distributed team that are on a mission to change the future of data infrastructure with task-specific hardware and open source. Our team thinks differently, working as an integrated but globally dispersed team of experts in hardware manufacturing, firmware, software, infrastructure and everything in between.

This role exists to help the business oversee and analyse cost expenditures and purchases within the organization, primarily focusing on inventory holdings in SJC1 and SYD1 edge manufacturing locations.

You’ll be working on:

• Maintaining standard costs of raw materials, packaging, machines and finished goods.
• Producing monthly management accounts including material costs.
• Conducting analysis of all costs.
• Developing and maintaining accurate costing systems in relation to labour, production methods and material supply.
• Ensuring all costs are identified and recorded accurately.
• Stock reconciliations and co-ordination of stocktakes and cycle counts.
• Educating the Operational and Production teams on the management of costs.

About you:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and forward thinking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

You'll absolutely need:

• Relevant Accounting/Business or Finance degree.
• Ability to effectively communicate with non-finance staff, including those in the warehouse and factory.
• Excellent working knowledge of computer software including Excel.

We'd love it if you also have:

• Previous cost accounting experience.
• Currently studying for or completed CPA or CA.
• Excellent working knowledge of production / costing software and ERP systems (Odoo, NetSuite).
