Description
The SSRC invites applications for the position of Program Assistant to work closely with the African Peacebuilding Network and the Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa programs on a broad range of editorial, outreach, and communication-related activities. The African Peacebuilding Network (APN) and the Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa program (Next Gen) are funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York and support independent research by African scholars and practitioners in the fields of peacebuilding, security, development, and related areas through fellowships, grants, publications, and public engagement.
As a program assistant, you will actively manage the program’s social media channels, web content, and fellowship database. You will also work with the Program Director and program staff to produce high-quality web content while also being able to provide support in the areas of design/branding, media relations, event management, as well as to perform related tasks, as directed. This position will require excellent writing and editing skills; strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and creativity, innovation, and flexibility. In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to travel internationally.

Salary and Benefits
