SOAR365 is Hiring a Production Worker (part-time) Near Richmond, VA

Off-site production positions are designed to provide employees with a competitive integrated employment (CIE) opportunity at a comparable, competitive pay wage rate.

DESCRIPTION: Part-time position responsible for preparing items for distribution in a warehouse or factory environment. Position can also involve assembling, checking product parts, assisting in the shipment of items, assembly line production, and using light machinery. This is a competitive integrated employment position at the business customer's location with workplace support provided by SOAR365. This position interacts with other employees, customers, and vendors as part of the daily job duties. Employee will receive a $500 sign-on bonus.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes assigned tasks following staff directions related to specific job.
  • Works as a member of a team with co-workers.
  • Follows positive work ethics.
  • Follows timelines for breaks and lunch periods.
  • Takes responsibility for personal items.
  • Meets attendance requirements.
  • Follows the SOAR365 policies.
  • Effectively works with volunteers / interns in the business unit to achieve the mission of the organization while providing a meaningful opportunities for the volunteer(s) / intern(s) to contribute in a manner they find rewarding. Treating volunteers & interns as valuable members of the SOAR365 team.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Team Leader assigned to a specific group, with overall supervision being provided by Production Manager.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Required Abilities:

  • Ability to interact with staff and others working in the facility, with minimal supports.
  • Ability to stay on task.
  • Ability to take direction from different team leaders.
  • Ability to be independent in relation to completion of most personal needs.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic safety principles in the workplace.

Additional Preferred (not required) Abilities:

  • Medium to high level of dexterity ability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long durations.
  • Basic mathematical skills related to counting products.
  • Some writing ability to complete minimum standard of paperwork related to a job.
  • Ability to use some hand equipment, (i.e., electrical stapler).

Note: Assignments will be given matching required and additional abilities to the needs of a specific job.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School graduate preferred, but not required; some production work experience preferred, but not required. Results of SOAR365 assessments/evaluations and those from referring sources will be reviewed and may be accepted in lieu of formal education and experience.
