As a member of the Finance organization, you will;· Build a sense of community within Finance and with other teams across the Company· Help secure the recruitment of top talent for Finance roles· Create a culture of excellence in execution that recognizes and rewards high performanceThis position will be required to work out of our Hoboken office, this is not a remote role.The ideal teammate would be able to:•Coordinate, integrate and review the work of Junior staff, provide training to team members, keep them informed of current issues, do performance reviews, and provide direction on team goals and objectives•Supervise and control accounting/reporting systems: assist in the design, maintenance and control of accounting and reporting templates, ledgers, systems and processes. Identify, research, develop and implement improvements to existing systems and procedures related to job or as part of cross-functional team•Be responsible for the general ledger month-end close and presentation of the balance sheet and income statement results and analysis as well as for the preparation of the monthly reporting package•Oversee preparation of all general ledger entries and reconciliation for month-end close.•Supervise junior accounting staff to ensure the deadlines for financial reporting are met and all accounting and reporting activities are performed in accordance with the accounting policies and/or the financial procedures of the company•Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts•Produce a variety of financial reports including periodic reports and analyses, setting forth progress and appropriate recommendations or conclusions•Monitor and maintain the resulting ledger balances, ensuring that the reporting of such balances is in compliance with US Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (US GAAP). This will require reconciliations, analytical review, and knowledge of US GAAP and good use of judgment•Prepare various financial reports for management, audit schedules for external auditors, bank covenant compliance reports and various government reports•Perform analytical review to test for reasonableness and provide comments on fluctuations and responses to questions•Prepare or review financial statements: prepare or review the monthly financial statements of the various entities, ensuring conformity with US GAAP applied on a consistent basis across the company•Prepare or review quarterly and annual "audit package" for various departments and entities, which includes financial statements and footnote disclosure information, ensuring conformity with US GAAP applied on a consistent basis•Research literature to support accounting treatment and methodology used in accordance with US GAAP and the company's financial policies•Coordinate or perform special projects and research into accounting issues. Participate in cross-functional teams as an accounting expert related to their specific area of accountingWould you describe yourself as someone who has:•Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance or similar field (required)•At least 5 years of experience in finance and accounting (required) with public or private accounting preferred•CPA certification (preferred but not required)•Experience in working in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) (preferred)•Strong analytical and technical accounting skills, creativity, and flexibility•Previous supervisory experience required•Solid knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and accounting theory•Solid understanding of accounting systems and processes
