JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Operate motor vehicle – must possess valid Illinois driver’s license.
2. Pass IDNR state certification exam (80%) for nuisance wildlife control.
3. Enter/exit structures, crawl spaces, attics, climb over and on top of structures, ascend and descend stairs/ladders, walk on roofs, wade in water.
4. Read, write reports, and comprehend pesticide labels and training materials printed in English.
5. Utilize OSHA mandated personal protective equipment.
6. Visually inspect for wildlife activity in, on, and around structures, determine species present, active and potential points of entry, install preventive solutions to active and potential wildlife situations.
7. Utilize basic tools and inspection equipment including: power drill, hammer, staple gun, screwdriver, pry bar, mirror, flashlight, saw, tin snips, wire cutters, pliers, socket set.
8. Tolerate a variety of environmental conditions, seasonal weather, and damp, dusty, poorly lighted areas.
9. Be able to lift, carry by hand, and extend ladders up to 40 feet in height (approximately 75 pounds) multiple times each day. Be able to carry traps containing animals (weighing approximately 30 lbs) multiple times each day. Be able to lift your own weight to gain access to attics and some rooftops.
10. Have the ability to clearly communicate service and sales information to the customer multiple times each day.
11. Capture animals using traps, capture poles, nets, or by hand.
12. Provide approved euthanasia techniques for captured animals as required by State of Illinois law.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, walking, climbing
(ladder approx. 20-30 feet), (carrying 40-50 lbs.).
