SMITH & WESSON BRANDS, INC. is Hiring a Material Handler Near Deep River, CT

Affected by TN move.
Responsible for identifying, preparing, and supplying materials for production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read production schedule and Materials notebook to anticipate production needs
  • Identify and locate materials
  • Prepare materials including blending, coloring, drying, etc.
  • Bring materials to presses at start of jobs and periodically thereafter to keep presses running
  • Clean up material spills at presses and materials staging area
  • Return unused materials to proper containers and to the warehouse staging area
  • Properly maintain/clean dryers, grinders, mixing equipment
  • Ensure materials equipment is in good working order; fill out RFM
  • Identify, locate, and retrieve tooling from tool storage area as needed
  • Break operators as needed
  • General housekeeping as needed
  • Other projects as directed by supervisor or management

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of one year injection molding experience
  • Familiar with use and operation of all materials equipment
  • Safely operate a fork truck
  • Ability to move materials manually and carry them up a ladder / into press hopper
  • Ability to read and interpret schedules and materials instructions
  • Basic math skills, able to use scales and calculate formulations
  • Continuous improvement, positive / can-do attitude
  • Strong commitment to quality, productivity and team performance in the workplace
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be Fluent in English
