What you’ll be doing:

SmartChoice is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing team. In this role, the successful candidatewill be responsible for managing the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. The Accounting Manager will work to allocate tasks evenly across the team and drive team performance - getting the most out of individual contributors. You will be responsible for…

• Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close/audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
• Reviewing processes and procedures within the department to identify, recommend and implement changes to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of processes.
• Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Developing staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
• Working with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
• Reviewing balance sheet analytics and preparing robust commentary explaining variances.
• Coordinating with internal departments including finance and sales to drive the completion of tasks and provide information requested.
• Working closely with internal and external auditors in completing audits providing appropriate insight and documentation.
• Performing ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

What skills & experience you’ll bring...

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA preferred
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience; Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• 3-5 years’ experience in managing an entire accounting team
• Proficient in QuickBooks accounting software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups)
• Experience working in or with the telecommunications industry is a strong plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization, time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Positive outlook, team-player, and desires to learn and grow within a team
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills

Pay Range: $105,000 to $135,000 per year
