Skills on the Hill is a pediatric therapy practice in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA that specializes in supporting and empowering children and families to climb to their fullest potential.

About the Position:

We are seeking a full time Physical Therapist to work in our pediatric therapy clinic(s) located in Washington, DC & Arlington, VA.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters/Doctorate degree from an accredited school or program.
• Current Physical Therapy license issued by the state of Virginia
• Two years of experience working with children with developmental delays is preferred.
• Knowledgeable of evidence-based practices found to benefit children
• Experience and ability to work independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and organizational priorities.
• Customer service orientated and professional attitude required
• Candidate should demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups. Should exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Must relate well to children and their families.
• Very good working knowledge in all applicable computer programs (Microsoft Office) and use of iPad.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Ability to pass basic drug screening.

Role of Pediatric Physical Therapist at Skills on the Hill, LLC:

• Provide client-based treatment
• Provide ongoing parent/family/teacher education
• Plan individual treatment programs based on client’s needs and adjust as needed
• Administer pediatric standardized assessments
• Promote developmentally appropriate therapy skills
• Engage children in activities to reduce behaviors that may interfere with learning and cognitive functioning

Requirements

Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited school or program

Current license issued by District of Columbia

Two to three years of experience working with children with special needs preferred

Knowledgeable of evidence-based practices found to benefit children

Have the ability to work independently, use critical thinking skills, and be an effective problem solver

Experience with feeding, sensory processing, and social skills treatment strategies preferred but not required

Professional, team-oriented, and energetic personality

Strong judgment, decision-making, and communication skills

Must relate well to children from diverse backgrounds and their families.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and online EMR programs

Ability to pass basic drug screening and background check.
