Position Overview The Purchasing Manager (PM) of agronomics leads all replenishment activities related to this category of business. In this role, you and your team of purchasing agents will be responsible for ensuring our branches have the product they need, when they need it. As PM, you will lead and develop a highly responsive and service-oriented team at SiteOne, but will also work closely with external supply partners, field leaders, category managers, and supply chain partners to maintain and elevate your department's performance. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage metrics and daily operations of a purchasing team responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in purchases
Build and execute an improvement roadmap for purchasing in this category
Establish new metrics and ways of measuring the efficiency and performance of our team
Contribute to product assortment initiatives and develop process to establish an assortment in partnership with field, category, and other relevant leaders
Lead Sales and operations planning (S&OP) sessions with all essential parties
Manage, track and own all opportunistic purchases throughout the year and report on lift provided by such purchases
Establish an open to buy proof of concept and/or purchasing budget for this category
Help develop supplier scorecards in partnership with our supply chain BI team
Manage supply partner relationships and high-level performance
Manage replenishment parameters to avoid stockouts based on supplier performance and seasonality
Record SOP's for daily operations while focusing on optimization of current practices
Skills We Are Seeking
Excellent follow up, customer service, communication and project management skills
Working knowledge of replenishment and order optimization systems
Passion for implementing systemic solutions in a procurement, or similar business, department
Experience working with Blue Yonder (previously JDA) or like software a plus; BY modules such as order optimization, fulfillment, or demand
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Finance
Extremely comfortable working with spreadsheets and systems
Statistical analysis skills and experience working with very large data sets
5 years of experience in Supply Chain areas such as forecasting, demand planning
3 years leading and developing teams
Preferred experience in a distributor or retail environment
