The Senior Software Architect leads the architecture team and works closely with product line architects and development teams including product management and business stakeholders. The senior architect supports all these teams by overseeing the development of new product platforms and establishing architecture blueprints to ensure Simpson Strong-Tie technology solutions are innovative and cloud enabled. If career growth is important to you, we not only know how to help you with that, it’s what we love to do: https://youtu.be/PUqzuWryYcU WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Lead Software Architectural Transformation Create technology roadmaps reflecting conversion of existing software products such as Component, Solutions, Builder Solutions, LBM Solutions and Outdoor Living Solutions to cloud native architecture. Drive and contribute to the technology decisions for these platforms, supporting a wide range of internal, external, and white-labeled partner systems. Provide architectural direction to product line architects and software development teams. Create working relationships with product, UI/UX, and business stakeholders to make a successful software product (50%) Define/Manage Design Standards Develop architecture standards, technical documentation, design plans, and guidelines for team members to implement. Provide technical guidance and leadership in capturing both technical requirements and level of effort for new product development. Assist in the design and architecture decisions for all software solutions and will be responsible for the technical design of these systems. Document how our systems work and key technical design decisions. (30%) Become a Technology Evangelist Meet with prospective solution providers to determine joint ventures based on technology synergies. Communicate Simpson Strong-Tie technology solutions architectural advantages. Assist with technical evaluation of potential acquisitions. Collaborate with partners to understand system changes. (20%) DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technology, information systems or software engineering course of study or relevant experience required 10 years of experience in cloud software architecture or a field related to migration of on-premises applications to cloud required 10 years of experience with relational database design and programming using Microsoft Stack required Proven experience converting legacy desktop and hosted applications with complex monolithic architecture to support cloud architecture required Experience working with desktop and cloud application performance monitoring and tuning required Experience with Enterprise-scale Azure cloud architecture and implementations required Show an advanced understanding of Azure cloud technologies, cloud platform operations, SQL Server and cloud governance with a focus on automation, analysis, and testing of cloud services required Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices required Hands on experience building cloud applications using Microsoft stack technologies required Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities, an ability to communicate at all levels of the entire organization Strong grasp of web fundamentals with a clear understanding of CDNs, network layers, and web applications required Experience with designing and optimizing web and microservices applications in Azure cloud environments Excellent communication skills, with the ability to weigh the needs of business and technical stakeholders, and to build alignment around your vision Thorough knowledge of construction and residential home building practices is a plus Communication: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, team members and customers. Teamwork: Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships. Organization: The ability to arrange resources to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner. TRAVEL REQUIRED This job requires 20% domestic travel. WORK STATUS & LOCATION This full-time, exempt position is located in Boulder, Colorado or remote with availability during core hours of 9am to 4pm MT. Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location. RELOCATION Relocation is not available for this position. Pay $114300 - $175000 / year REWARDS AT SIMPSON STRONG-TIE We recognize and reward employees with a carefully designed and comprehensive rewards package, including competitive compensation, quarterly bonuses or commission and first-rate benefits.
