We specifically work with small business owners who have the enormous task of purchasing the right type of insurance for their employees and their families. With more than 20,000 customers and several major partnerships including Intuit and Square, we're growing quickly and disrupting this convoluted and confusing industry by making it more transparent and fully accessible to everyone. We got our start in the Y-Combinator incubator, and have been funded by top-tier investors at Polaris Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, New York Life Ventures and AltaIR Capital. 

We are hiring our first Chief Financial Officer to direct and oversee all of our financial activities, including but not limited to the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, strategic budgeting and forecasting design, and managing investor relations.

What you’ll do:

• Develop the financial strategy and roadmap that realizes our business goals
• Conduct continuous financial performance analysis comparing sales projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses 
• Communicate variances, identify associated risks and opportunities for optimization to facilitate decision-making
• Review, develop and implement more effective and/or automated processes of financial reconciliation, controlling, and accounting
• Review budget planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
• Work with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
• Lead strategic Board discussions and decisions (fundraising, budget planning etc.).

• Ability to define & communicate levers that affect our cash flow
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage effectively at all levels of the organization
• Promoter of a Data-Driven Company
• Start-up and fundraising experience
• Experience in a regulated industry (e.g. finance, insurance, real estate) is a plus
