SimpliGov is a GovTech 100 company facilitating government modernization with our cloud-based automation platform. We empower state and local organizations to rapidly develop and implement modern digital experiences using eForms, workflow automation and eSignature. We are a no-code solution that enables lines of business to own and maintain their own business processes - eliminating long, costly implementations and avoiding the need to rip-and-replace existing infrastructure.

Role:

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to provide technical assistance to prospective customers throughout the buyer journey. You will bridge product and sales teams, bringing the SimpliGov platform to life through use-case relevant demos and pre-empting technical objections with well thought through solutions. We are looking for a sales engineer who can build re-usable assets and processes in addition to getting in front of customers and developing relationships from CIO down at state and local agencies. It’s a big role, the company is growing rapidly and you’ll be limited only by your own abilities.


Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with sales team to provide technical representation throughout the sales process
  • Create both reusable and custom demos, often at short notice, in response to rapidly developing sales opportunities
  • Structure and manage demo environments with creation of a workflow template library that supports key use-cases and product functionalities
  • Lead sandbox setup and deliver sandbox training for key prospects
  • Proactively develop relationships with prospective customers providing technical assistance at every opportunity
  • Identify potential obstacles and work with internal teams to overcome
  • Identify relevant stakeholders, influencers, budget and timelines
  • Provide seamless relationship and project transition to customer success and pro services teams
  • Assist team members in further improvement of sales processes; coordinating with account managers, marketing, business development, customer success and product teams
  • Create technical content to support sales and onboarding process
  • Develop educational content that can be used for prospective customers learning center
  • Gather and feedback feature and use-case functional requirements to product team
  • Provide competitive analyses and feed back market developments to product and services teams
  • Work with product team to identify and deliver features and solutions to sales prospects
  • Regularly attend tradeshows and events as SimpliGov technical specialist


About you:

  • 5 years’ experience delivering technical services to customers as trusted advisor (pre or post sales)
  • Great knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT landscape
  • Excellent understanding and awareness of enterprise software sales cycle
  • Ability to read the room, adapt and build relationships
  • Excellent communicator and demo-meister! You’ll want to get in front of customers (and don’t mind travelling to do so)
  • Experience presenting complex technical solutions to business leaders, IT and engineers
  • Exceptional follow-through with the ability to drive simultaneous and competing customer requests in a high-paced environment
