JOB SUMMARY:

The Destination Travel Network Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for prospecting, pitching, and closing new DTN Digital Marketing engagements with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), as well as direct sales of digital marketing products and services to small- and medium-sized businesses (DMO member/partner). The ideal candidate for the Director of Strategic Partnerships can work independently or as part of a team in order to achieve individual goals as well as overall department objectives. The Director of Strategic Partnerships will include both ​​inbound and outbound sales activities, prospecting and securing digital marketing engagements with DMOs, conducting virtual and in-person partner workshops, as well as direct sales of digital marketing products and services. As such, the Director of Strategic Partnerships will have goals for securing new DMO markets, conducting partner workshops, sales call volume, and growing revenue through direct sales of digital marketing products and services.

This role will be expected to travel for onsite sales missions and attend industry trade shows, as needed. Although travel will be required, this person will primarily execute the responsibilities of the role through email, over the phone, or through video meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts outbound and inbound prospecting for new DMO Digital Marketing engagements in order to secure new markets 
  • Build and maintain a solid DMO opportunity pipeline
  • Direct sales of digital marketing products and services to DMO member/partners, notably hotels, restaurants, and attractions within each destination
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing virtual or in-person digital marketing workshops for DMO member/partners
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and completing in-market sales missions 
  • Diligent attention to detail and daily management of opportunity pipeline with detailed notes about prospecting status
  • Achieve sales KPIs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of sales experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dynamic, outgoing, confident personality with the ability to network independently and build or foster new DMO relationships to allow DTN to offer digital marketing solutions 
  • Equally comfortable on the phone, video conferencing, and speaking in front of large groups of people
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, G Sheets, etc.)
  • Ability to create sales presentations using Google Slides or Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Ability to travel for in-market sales presentations, direct sales to SMBs, and industry conferences
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to translate “technical speak” into layman’s terms
  • Reliable and punctual

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EXPERIENCES

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the critical role technology plays in today’s business environment and the ways it impacts the local businesses and their communities
  • Has worked in Salesforce CRM or another enterprise CRM platform
  • Experience selling in a variety of environments (in-person, cold calling, email marketing, etc.)

PERFORMANCE METRICS

  • Securing new DMO clients for DTN Digital Marketing
  • Number of websites sold to DMO member/partners
  • Total Contract Value of all digital marketing products sold to DMO member/partners
