SimBioSys is Hiring a HR Manager Near Chicago, IL

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Creates policies and procedures based on employee and company needs; ensures all company HR policies are applied consistently
  • Provides support and service to all employees through the education, communication, and administration of payroll, benefits, record-keeping, employee relations, health and safety, and career/professional development
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations; investigates employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies, practices, and job descriptions to maintain compliance
  • Coordinates and conducts training for management, supervisors and employees in workplace policies and professional development to include but not limited to workplace harassment, health and safety, company policy, supervisory skills, conflict resolutions, interpersonal communication, and effective group interaction skills
  • Collects and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of HR programs, policies, and activities
  • Maintain HR systems, processes, employee records, organization charts, and employee directory in accordance with corporate and legal guidance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of human resource management experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
  • Experience processing payroll, both bi-weekly and semi-monthly

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

Physical Requirements:
