SimBioSys is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to contribute to the customer-facing aspects of TumorScope, an application to assist physicians in the treatment of cancer patients. In the role you will be responsible for maintaining and developing new features in the web front-end of the application. You will work closely with the back-end team to use our APIs in order to display a multitude of data and rich visualizations.

SimBioSys is on a mission to improve patient experience through computational simulations. By virtualizing cancer, clinicians and patients are empowered with a better understanding of the disease and can assess all available options computationally to truly individualize treatment. We employ a combination of biophysical modeling and artificial intelligence to enable precision medicine in Oncology. Our portfolio of software applications enable individualized cancer care, drug development, clinical trial optimization and comprehensive biomarker development.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing web applications using React
• Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications
• Build visualizations to effectively communicate data
• Interact with scientists and physicians to create user stories
• Assess performance, stability, and effectiveness of the application
• Assess human usability factors of the front-end application

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related degree, or two years experience in working with React in a production environment
• Proficient in designing web applications using frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular
• Experience with consuming data from REST APIs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project goals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with TypeScript

• Proficient in Python
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Design-Build-Test software development processes
• Experience with medical imaging
