POSITION PURPOSE:
While your main purpose is to greet and register guest, provide service during their stay and settle their account at the completion of their stay, your realm of responsibilities will extend beyond that of a typical front desk agent. This allows you to expand your skill sets and work in a fast paced environment with new challenges daily.
What will be expected of me?
¨ Ability to stand for 8 hours a day and move throughout the Front Office and the hotel to perform job functions.
¨ Greet guests immediately with a friendly welcome. Use courteous and clear speaking voice, listen to guest request, and respond with appropriate action.
¨ Answer the telephone in 3 rings or less using positive and upbeat tone. Transfer calls to appropriate extensions with polite courteous response, or take written messages when necessary.
¨ Complete the registration processes by accessing and inputting complete information in the RDP using Silver Cloud standards. Make appropriate room selection based on guest needs. Provide key packet containing coded room key and information regarding hotel hours.
¨ Verify and authorize credit cards using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance designated house bank. Perform accurate, moderately complex mathematics using a calculator. Post charges to guestrooms and house accounts using the computer system.
¨ Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction. Field guest complaints, conduct research, and develop a positive solution. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise, which may include authorizing revenue allowances.

¨ Lead by example with "Friendliness and Cleanliness" towards all team members and guests.
¨ Take reservations, cancellations and make modifications to existing reservations.
¨ Retrieve mail, small packages and faxes for guests as requested. Alert guest and deliver.
¨ Be able to supply guest with accurate information about local attractions, directions, and seasonal events.
¨ At guest request, recommend restaurants and tourist destinations.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
It is essential to the operation of the hotel that all staff can depend on each other to be ready to work when they are scheduled. Unlike some other industries, if one person is late to arrive it means that another person is late to leave because we can’t leave the desk unattended. Individual properties will establish attendance policies, and employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Silver Cloud Inn rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations with be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Licenses or Certificates:
No special licenses required (CPR/First Aid Certification will be offered at various dates and Silver Cloud requires at least one agent per shift to be certified
