The Employee Experience (EEX) Manager will be responsible for supporting the operational effectiveness of the People Team and overseeing all aspects of the employee experience. This critical role sets the tone for a positive experience to candidates and employees by providing leadership and oversight of the entire lifecycle process from onboarding, orientation, banking assistance for inbound and outbound travel (crew movement), and employee engagement programs, ensuring we are providing the best Silver Bay experience, under the leadership of the VP of People.

The EEX Manager will help bridge the gap from Recruiting to Plant HR, Corporate HR, and Operations. The EEX Manager will collaborate closely with internal key stakeholders to help build strategies to improve the employee experience and work culture. Understanding the needs of our employees will be essential; the EEX Manager must recognize and appreciate our employees perspectives, stay connected with them, and make them feel like a part of the companys success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Lead with the Four Cs (compliance, clarification, culture & connection) and inspire your team to be high performing, highly valued, and connected EEX specialist who delivers brilliant employee hiring and onboarding practices with a consistently excellent experience.
  • Communicate with new hires before their start date to provide necessary information (e.g., plant assignments, tentative start dates, and next steps in the hiring process).
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of our EEX business objective and goals.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager and Recruiters to ensure a seamless transition for all new hires and returning employees from pre-hire employment checks (BG) and/or accepted offer.
  • Engage and communicate with employees on the next steps in their hiring processes by providing straightforward pathway to their Onboarding steps, including Health Questionnaires and Form I-9 verification process.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all employee hire paperwork is completed according to federal and state laws, and company policies, procedures, and guidelines prior to their plant arrival. This includes reviewing, gathering, and filing all paperwork related to new hires and returners, including contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Coordinate with HR to help facilitate new hire/rehire employee orientation at the POH prior to employee arriving at the facility.
  • Gather candidate experience feedback from new hires and returning employees.
  • Work alongside Recruiting and HR to perform regular assessments and improvements to the HRIS.
  • Support management on structural policy matters related to the HRIS including any organization requirements or feedback.
  • Maintain data integrity in systems by regularly analyzing data.
  • Design user-friendly processes, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Help to maintain and respond to company social media pages directly impacting any onboarding, start dates and travel related comments or questions that may arise.
  • Lead SSA Administration and Banking groups ground logistics for our H2B Program employees, to include coordinating hotels, meals, and ground transportation.
  • Collaborate with VP of People to help manage all staffing coordination to include initial crew-up movement, in season PPT (Plant to Plant Transfers), airlines, charters, catering, and other travel related contacts.
  • Responsible for collaborating with VP of People to help maintain and continue developing relationships with our partners-vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Organization In order to be successful as the EEX Manger, you must be organized. This will help you create a clear onboarding plan for new and returning employees. You will use your organization skills to create a schedule for the onboarding process, including the steps you take with employees and the resources you provide them. Being organized can also help you create a system for tracking employee progress and evaluating the onboarding programs success.
  • Proactive Problem Solving this can help you find solutions to challenges that new and returning employees may face during the onboarding process. You can use this skill to help them overcome challenges and continue to get through the hiring process swiftly.
  • Experience working in high-volume, fast paced hiring environment required. You will need the ability to adapt and excel when business plans change.
  • Attention to detail You can prioritize tasks, work with a sense of urgency, yet leave nothing to chance. You are able to factor in every piece of information that will lead to improved processes and reduced cost.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related experience.
  • 3 years of working experience as an HR Onboarding Manager, HR Onboarding Specialist, or a similar role in the HR/Recruiting department.
  • Proven success and work experience as a HR or EEX Manager in fast paced, multi-location facilities.
  • Hands on experience with HRIS, ATS, Onboarding, and HR/Recruitment tools.
  • Familiarity with employment paperwork, including compliance regulations related to employee onboarding, with ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated full-lifecycle high volume seafood industry Recruiting, HR, or similar manufacturing experience required.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Work Environment and Schedule

Position requires onsite presence in Seattle office and the ability to travel for meetings as needed. A hybrid work schedule can be available as long as the candidate can effectively manage the workload the department team, which consists of both onsite, hybrid, and remote employees.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

The employee is frequently required to set an example by consistently modeling high standards of honesty and integrity. Presentation and sharing of information should be handled in a direct, appropriate, and helpful manner. Maintains a reputation for honesty, confidentiality, reliability, and fairness.
