Sign Design, Inc. - Brockton, MA is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Brockton, MA

Description

We are looking for a graphic designer with a great portfolio, excellent typography, and creative design skills. Experience in the sign industry is a plus!

  • Design interior and exterior signage using established design methods
  • Read and interpret work orders and follow instructions for timely and quality completion of assigned daily projects
  • Use provided sign type and client templates to effectively design product based on client and sales specifications
  • Ensure layouts contain proper design specifications and feasible construction and production methods
  • Complete quality check of work and track jobs through internal production software
  • Work cooperatively with sales and other production departments on project-related issues and questions to ensure efficient production and meet deadlines
  • Prepare files for online client proofing and outsource vendors
  • Properly store and organize files for maximum efficiency
  • Complete quality check of work and track jobs through internal production software

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required

  • Experience as a graphic designer (1 year)
  • Design portfolio
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs – Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Basic knowledge of fonts, color theory and design concepts
  • Ability to correctly use and read a tape measure
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and scaling)
  • Ability to multitask in a schedule-driven environment with the ability to maintain accuracy
  • Ability to take direction and willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to read and understand work orders
  • Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude and appearance
  • Good work ethic
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • High school or trade school diploma or GED
  • United States Work Authorization

Preferred

  • Experience as a graphic designer (3 – 5 years)
  • Sign industry experience
  • Ability to create fabrication and installation details
  • Post-Secondary Education or Equivalent Experience
  • Pre-press production experience
