Project Manager

Primary Function :

As a Project Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a wide array of projects. This front line role involves heavy interaction with the Lab Director, team, and client. Projects span all points along a Product Build cycle. Proactive communication, on-the-fly problem solving skills, and a proven record of keeping projects on track are important in this role.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities :

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams in prototype build projects.
• Work with client and Sigma team to establish aggressive but realistic project timeline and milestones.
• Manage the project schedule including updating and adjusting timeline and milestones as required.
• Establish a high level of trust with the client that is based in technical competence and backed up by steady progress.
• Monitor resource needs and proactively seek additional resources as required by project work flow.
• Understand project scope and inform client and Sigma team when project is veering away from original plan.
• Take proactive action to reduce risk and head off problems.
• Provide excellent and timely customer service.
• Make certain that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Ability to manage multiple, smaller projects with separate teams.
• Work with Business Build peers to manage and set expectations both internally and with the client.

  Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent required AND 3 years of degreed experience as a Project Lead or Manager.
• Strong client interaction skills, and experience estimating and quoting projects.
• Experience working with multiple disciplines such as management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, firmware/software engineering, and materials.
• Keen ability to track day-to-day project requirements, issues, and risk mitigation.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative to identify and solve complex system level issues, and ability to plan work and accomplish challenging objectives with a minimum of direction.
• Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.
• Demonstrate commitment and adherence to SIGMADESIGN Core Values.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Pass a post-offer background verification.

Work Environment

Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
