Product Development Engineer

Primary Function:

Product development including executing New Product Introductions (NPI) through the New Product Release cycle (NPR), sustaining and existing product engineering support. NPI ranges from concept through full product qualification and all supporting processing instructions, manufacturing documentation and manufacturing drawing creation and revision. Hold critical stage gate team reviews and provide routine stakeholder communications for global alignment. Sustaining activities include identifying opportunities for optimization, performing impact vs. effort justification and completing prioritized projects. Complete corrective actions for quality or other performance issues with root cause analysis/investigations.

• Document process capabilities meeting requirements
• Sustaining product optimizations
• Create/execute engineering trial plans for develop
• Process monitoring and capability reporting
• Mechanical and electrical product verifications
• Product specific tooling qualifications
• DOE’s and Gage studies
• Statistical analysis (Minitab or similar)
• Technical documentation
• Data analysis and reporting
• Root cause analysis/corrective actions
• Microsoft Office Knowledge
• Proficient with Excel functions
• Signal integrity understanding
• Quality Problem investigations
• Handle multiple projects, tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Work effectively with different levels and individuals inside and outside of the organization
• Hands on project activities (mechanical and electrical)
• Independent worker and team player

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

• Cable design and manufacturing experience, high frequency applications a plus
• Engineering costing and capacity analysis
• Familiar with testing equipment (TDR, VNA)
• Experience with continuous manufacturing processes
• Project management
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Major: BS Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Coursework in Electrical Engineering a plus
