SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. Primary Function:

In this role, you will be a key member of our client’s Product Design and Development Staff. A successful candidate will have solid mechanical design experience and skills. This position requires a self-motivated team player who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment solving complex design issues.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Product support (R&D to Manufacturing)
  • Design and develop prototypes
  • Define design requirements and specifications in accordance with manufacturing and customer expectations and requirements
  • Collaborates with peer engineering teams, customers, vendors, application specialist, and manufacturing to complete product designs across all phases of the engineering development cycle
  • Determine and implement appropriate tests to validate design
  • Develop product and tooling designs
  • Perform verification testing for new product introductions
  • Interact with suppliers to source mechanical parts

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in mechanical design and product engineering
  • 5 years’ experience using solid modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for mechanical engineering projects
  • Experience with opto-mechanical design preferred
  • Experience with electronics packaging preferred
  • Experience in R&D and manufacturing environments preferred
  • Ability to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instruction, inspection procedures and capitol project proposals)
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional environment, exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skill
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass a post-offer background verification.
