Sift is Hiring a Remote Senior Product Manager

We're seeking a strong Senior Product Manager to lead Sift’s Dispute Management product line. This solution helps leverage intelligent automation to reduce chargebacks, win more disputes, and boost efficiency. Sift provides consumer-facing companies an end-to-end solution that reduces revenue lost to chargebacks using a holistic dispute management system, powered by machine learning, and which also helps businesses unlock potential revenue. This role involves ownership across the full product stack, from setting strategy, to mapping out the processor and bank issuer landscape, to driving industry-first automation and machine learning, to pricing and positioning.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will sit at the center of Sift’s efforts to effectively blend machine learning, identity, fraud, and delightful user experiences into a best-of-breed digital trust platform. As a Product Manager on this team, you’ll work closely with a team of engineers and data scientists to transform ideas into reality. You’ll own the roadmap - the success of your product is entirely in your hands.

Successful candidates will have a history of shipping quality products in a fast-paced environment. Experience collaborating closely with engineers, data scientists, engineering management, and designers is a must. You should also feel comfortable working with Marketing and Sales to launch new product features and drive their adoption.

  • Own the roadmap for your product. Be able to communicate both the business and technical rationale behind your decisions.
  • Mock up concepts, write specs, cut tickets, write copy, and do whatever it takes to ship your products.
  • Communicate and motivate across engineering, product marketing, data science, customer success, dispute analysts, and sales.
  • Be obsessed with customers. Talk to them. Validate your ideas with feedback and data. Ensure that the customer is infused in everything you do.
  • Create a vision for your product. Influence others with where you want to take your product.

What would make you a strong fit:

  • 4 years of experience in product management for a tech company
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Hands-on and passionate about improving the customer experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work cross functionally with engineers, designers, sales, and marketing
  • Payments and specifically chargeback experience
  • Machine learning and data science experience a plus

About the team:

Our team researches and develops machine learning models and systems that help make the Internet a safer place. We serve customers across multiple verticals such as online commerce, delivery service, finance, travel sites, etc., and we have customers in both developed and developing countries. Our technology helps protect Internet users from ever-evolving online scams, payment fraud, abusive content, account takeover, etc. We are a forward-thinking team constantly challenging ourselves and the status quo to push the boundary of machine learning and data science across multiple product offerings at SIFT and collaborate with product engineering teams to deliver tangible customer value.

We take pride in our work, not ourselves. Open and constructive feedback is valued and often required to ensure rigor in our work. We love learning, hacking, and sharing our findings. We believe that machine learning is THE way to empower internet-scale businesses to thrive.

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement end-to-end machine learning products
  • Build highly scalable Big Data pipelines using Apache Flink, Beam, and Spark
  • Prototype and explore model serving frameworks, workflow orchestration engines, and other machine learning platforms
  • Collaborate with other engineers and data scientists and contribute to internal tooling, experimentation, prototyping, and productization effort
  • Lead system design discussions and drive engineering excellence
  • Mentor junior engineers and data scientists on system design and coding

What would make you a strong fit:

  • You have a growth mindset and a strong interest to work with real-world machine learning applications and technologies
  • You are curious about customer and business needs
  • You are data-driven, love to challenge your assumptions and try new things
  • You are passionate about building very large scale distributed systems
  • 5 years of experience working with large datasets (think TBs of data, 10s of thousands of features) in both batch and streaming environments
  • Expert programmer in Java or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Deep experience with python, docker container, k8s, terraform, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative work attitude
  • B.S degree in Computer Science or related field
