SUMMARY

SIFCO Industries, Inc., a premier publicly held supplier to the aerospace industry located in Cleveland, OH, seeks a qualified Millwright. The Millwright is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of mechanical systems throughout the facility. Such systems include, but are not limited to pneumatics, hydraulics, steam, gas and water. Required skills include, but are not limited to general mechanical repair, basic carpentry, welding, masonry, and plumbing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and all plant machinery, equipment, facilities and other installations. Be familiar with pneumatic and hydraulics to read simple prints and sketches.
  • Make repairs and adjustment or replacement of worn or defective parts on a wide variety of machinery and equipment. Ability to dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment requiring close fitting and aligning with average supervision and is proficient in the use of all equipment and tools necessary to perform this work.
  • Ability to do common methods of rigging or handling of heavy machinery of parts in a safe manner with average supervision.
  • Install, modify and maintain a variety of piping for steam, air, gas, water, hydraulic systems etc. with average supervision.
  • Layout and do simple carpentry using power and hand tools normally associated with the trade with minimum supervision.
  • Use welding and burning equipment for minor repairs.
  • Operate equipment in the Maintenance Shop such as threaders, drills, saws or similar types of equipment with minimum supervision. Make simple repairs to parts and be able to use measuring tools to secure tolerances of plus or minus .005 inch.
  • Perform general building maintenance and upkeep functions such as replacement of broken windows, general repair of doors and minor roof repairs.
  • Make simple electrical repairs when it is associated with assigned mechanical work.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment. May also be required to move production or other materials when necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school
  • 3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to read and understand blue prints and engineering drawings
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to handle up to seventy-five (75) pounds and physical dexterity to meet the mechanical needs of the facility
  • Willingness to work extended hours and open to any shift
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed and be placed on any shift
