Sierra Health and Wellness Centers is seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist for our substance use residential treatment facility in Monterey, CA. Candidate must possess a PHD or PsyD, have at least two years of experience in drug and alcohol counseling, be passionate about their work, and able to engage effectively with clients and within a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Job Description:

Under general supervision, provides professional mental health and SUD treatment services; provides clinical and casework services, and counseling and treatment for mentally and emotionally disturbed clients and their families; and performs related work as required. The Clinical Psychologist also assumes administrative tasks such as curriculum development, collection of outcomes data, and ensuring adherence to Joint Commission regulations.

• Performs direct clinical care as a primary therapist providing group, individual, and family therapy
• Acts as a clinical lead responsible for:
  • Ensuring clinical programming meets all quality and certification standards
  • Managing group therapy schedule
  • Providing clinical supervision, consultation, and training to master’s level therapists and SUD counselors
  • Crisis intervention, AMA response, and service recovery opportunities
  • Leading weekly clinical treatment team
  • Behavioral Health Clinician on-call rotation
• Completion of clinical documentation and weekly chart auditing
• Formal clinical supervision of post-doctorate psychology fellow(s)
• Participates in evaluative and diagnostic staff conferences
• Prepares verbal, written, and statistical reports
• Attends conferences, workshops, and training to maintain current awareness of mental health methodologies and issues
• Participates in process improvement for clinical programming
• Operates a personal computer and other office equipment
• Communicates effectively with others in person and over the telephone
• Conducts outcome assessments, collects data, and analyzes the data
• Maintain confidential information in accordance with legal standards and/or County regulations
• Attends community functions and makes presentations

• Principles, procedures, techniques, trends of clinical and casework services, counseling, and treatment.
• Social aspects and characteristics of mental and emotional disturbances.
• Principles of mental health education.
• Theories and causes of substance abuse.
• A wide variety of therapeutic and treatment approaches for persons with mental and emotional problems.
• Leadership and supervision qualities and skills
• Scope, availability, and activities of community resources, including other mental health and social service agencies.
• Current trends in mental hygiene, mental health, public health, and social services, including State and Federal programs in these areas.
• Expert communication skills and counseling abilities
• Prior knowledge of insurance billing preferred.

Required education and experience:

• Familiar with HIPPA/client confidentiality and personal rights.
• Possess CPR/First Aid certification.
• Current TB test and health screen
• Current license as a Clinical Psychologist issued by the California State Board of Psychology.
• Must possess a PhD or PsyD.
• Must have at minimum two-year experience in Drug and Alcohol counseling.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Preferred education and experience:

• Two to five years of experience in a client outreach or similar role.
• PhD or PsyD in related field
• Two to five years of experience in Drug and Alcohol counseling.
• Proven track record of successful client relationships
