Job Summary

Siegwerk is looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our team in Des Moines! You will be responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems, including the components of industrial machinery and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code and already possess professional electrical licensing or have the ability to obtain it shortly after hire.

Compensation: $40 per hour or more depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Installs electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
  • Replaces and maintains electrical equipment and components. Installs lighting, conduit, and fittings.
  • Troubleshoots control circuits.
  • Reads and analyzes electrical prints and schematics.
  • Tests and repairs electrical motors and pumps.
  • Completes work orders as requested by production.
  • Install Frequency drives and trouble shoot issues with drives Conducts preventive maintenance per program.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradly PLC’s.
  • Serves as a back up to other maintenance personnel, if required.
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with six years electrical experience.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of blue prints, electrical schematics, and ladder diagrams for PLA within an industrial setting.
  • Currently hold or ability to obtain a electrical journeyman's license soon after hire.
  • Valid driver's license to enable the incumbent to use company vehicle to travel to secondary manufacturing plant and pick up misc. parts.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
