Shutterstock has the largest crowd-sourced digital content library in the world that includes photos, illustrations, vectors, 3D content, video, and music. Shutterstock is looking for top technologists to join our recently acquired TurboSquid team, which is the leading provider of 3D models designed for films, games, commercials, architecture and more. You will help drive the future growth of our 3D content website. The team’s mission is to provide mentorship and peer reviews while gaining understanding of our codebase and business. You will be working with highly-motivated and talented engineers on exciting and complex problems for the industry-leading 3D content website, with quality, performance, and scale in mind at every step of the way. Responsibilities: Develop a team-oriented, supportive culture with a strong focus on creating a working environment that fosters creativity and open communication, as well as one that demands discipline and results. Constantly improve team productivity, refine agile processes, and create methods to increase efficiency. Investigate, analyze, and evangelize (if necessary) programming methodologies such as test-driven development, pair programming, etc. Be the evangelist for your engineers, mentor and guide their career growth. Continually strengthen and simplify the engineering ecosystem. Encourage active participation in all phases of the project lifecycle, and work with project management to remove impediments and provide visibility to stakeholders. Requirements: Experience leading a team of engineers. Proven track record of delivering complex projects; clearly defining deliverables and timetables, with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in complex environments and manage teams to successful project completion. Demonstrated ability as an effective mentor and coach who understands how to successfully integrate into a team of talented developers. 4 years leading Engineering teams. 5 years experience programming in Ruby on Rails 3 years working with front-end frameworks like React Strong Software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, architecture, algorithms and problem solving skills. Strong knowledge of Databases. Deep understanding and experience working on distributed/high trafficked systems, and preferably real-time systems and workflows with an emphasis on end-to-end speed. Experience with and enthusiasm for agile principles and values. Excellent analytic, communication and interpersonal skills.
