Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Full-Time Medical Assistant in our Outpatient Department. 

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant supports the medical and nursing staff in providing care and comfort to infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients during outpatient clinic appointments by performing routine clinical and clerical tasks. In addition, the Medical Assistant is responsible for phlebotomy and assisting with the application and removal of casts.

Qualifications

Required:

• Demonstrated clinical skills; one year of experience working in acute care or outpatient clinic setting as a Medical Assistant is required
• Proficient computer and EMR skills
• Must be flexible and self-motivated, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Able to prioritize multiple assignments in a busy outpatient setting.
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR

• Current Medical Assistant Certification
• Casting experience, preferable in a pediatric environment (ROT certification preferred)
• Bilingual English/Spanish, and inventory control
