Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Systems Administrator based out of Denver, CO or a telecommuter physially located within the United States.

Responsibilities

The objective of the System Administrator is to ensure all infrastructure systems and services are operating to full efficiency and be able to deliver consistent and sustainable uptime of our technology environments.

  • Be a full Microsoft administrator, for maintenance and support of a Windows enterprise environment to include but not limited to administration and maintenance of Windows Server Domains and systems, O365 and Azure systems, full Active Directory services, and Tier 3 support for Windows client-side and back-end environments.
  • Support and maintenance of local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Works with internet service providers to ensure network performance and satisfy data communication needs. Also participates in the capacity planning and network performance optimization strategy and implementation.
  • Must have great technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively, to understand the problem and to explain its solution, in addition to documenting the resolution within a support ticket.
  • Must be customer-oriented, patient, and can troubleshoot issues in person or over the phone.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and support Azure Infrastructure including VMs (Virtual Machines), AAD (Azure Active Directory), Storage and other services.
  • Manage all aspects of Exchange and user accounts in O365, including e-Discovery
  • Act as escalation point for internal support teams.
  • Write and maintain documentation for internal systems.
  • Work with management team to develop procedures and policies.
  • Manage all aspects of Microsoft Endpoint Manager, including Autopilot and Intune.
  • Manage network devices on site and in the field. Knowledge of Cisco devices is preferred.
  • Mentor and cross-train support team members.
  • Research issues using available information and resources.
  • Identify and escalate incidents requiring urgent attention.
  • Communicate with users on the status of incidents and requests.
  • Ensure incidents are complete and resolved from start to finish promptly.
  • Follow change management best practices.
  • Identify and escalate application incidents and drive issue resolution together with co-workers.
  • Explain concepts to users in laymen's terms during projects and support duties.
  • Communicate in a personable, positive, and friendly style.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with co-workers, end-users, and technology providers.
  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions given orally, in writing and/or in diagram form.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executives, management, suppliers, customers, employees, and commercial accounts in a wide range of situations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned work area.
  • Understanding of corporate and business provided services of company.
  • Adhere to all Shimmick policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree 10 years of relevant or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education or AA/AS 12 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma/GED 14 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network troubleshooting skills, especially in virtual environments. Cisco Meraki familiarity preferred.
  • Familiar with Intune or other MDM machine imaging process, policy application, and software deployment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers.
  • Experience as a System Administrator in a large enterprise environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Industry recognized systems management certifications a plus. (MCSA or above)
  • 10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator in Microsoft Azure environment preferred
