Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Construction Project Manager based out of Huntington Beach, CA. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between Shimmick and client interface.
  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skill
