SHG Temp Staffing is Hiring a Special Education Teacher (CONTRACT) Near Federal Way, WA

We at SHG Temp Staffing are looking to hire Special Education Teachers.

We offer Next Day Pay from Monday thru Thursday, Friday shift paid on Monday.

We are in need of a Special Education Teachers to fill several contract positions.

Contract dates: 9/06/2022-6/16/2023

The pay rate is $50

Job Description: 

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate early care program in accordance with relevant licensing, policies and procedures.

The Special Education Teacher will lead in planning and implementing both long and short range activities in accordance with educational component plans, curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices and program philosophy.

The Special Education Teacher will assume leadership in directing the planning and implementation of lesson plans, incorporating all educational component plans.

The Special Education Teacher will ensure that her support team (Teacher Associate 2 and Teacher Associate 1) maintains a learning environment that is consistent with program goals.

The Special Education Teacher will be respectful of children and families, and ensure that the curriculum meets the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs of both the individual child and the group. Responsible for leading, coordinating care and providing educational activities in our Early Education Program.

Develop, lead, evaluate and organize learning resources in the learning environment to promote positive learning experience.

Participate, conduct, interact, initiate and encourage the children with small group activities during the day.

Identify children's individual and collective learning needs and prepare a plan of instruction that caters to the full ability range of the learning environment. Utilize and facilitate a variety of teaching methods and lessons designed to capture children's interest and individual learning.

Assess, record and communicate children's progress during the year by holding parent/teacher conferences.

Foster appropriate skills and social attitudes in the children. Supervise, support and guide the Teacher Associate's in the instructional process.

Encourage and model professional development by attending and participating in professional meetings and conference.

Ensure the health and safety of the children at all times while maintaining and appropriate learning environment.

Maintain and meet educational requirements as it relates to the Washington Accreditation Standards and Criteria.

Demonstrates successful outcomes for children's growth and development toward achieving learning objectives/standards. 

Skills:

Must have minimum 2 full years of verified teaching experience in a child care setting or related field. 

A talent for fostering children's appetite for learning. Creative and resourceful, combined with strong planning and organizational skills.

Highly developed communication skills. Genuine interest in children and respect for their individuality.

The ability to establish positive relationships with families and other professionals. 

Must also possess:

Comprehensive knowledge, familiarity, understanding and experience of national and state education standards, licensing requirements and procedures, and fire, health, and OSHA regulations."

Education:

Bachelor's Degree with specialization in Special Education or related field.

Washington Teaching Certification. 

Must maintain Pediatric First Aid/CPR AED certifications
