Job Description 

Summary:

Do you want to play an integral role in a dynamic organization? We are looking for a Nurse (LPN/RN) who wants to assist our students and adult participants. The right candidate will enjoy learning new tasks and taking on a variety of responsibilities while working in an up-beat, nonprofit environment.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Assist and/or facilitate the creation of school health and nursing policies, procedures to support compliance with state and federal statutes, in addition to accepted standards of nursing practice.
  • Work with program leadership to identify needs, gaps, resources, and priorities related to school health. 
  • Assure adherence to requirements for mandated vaccines and promotion of infectious disease control and safety.
  • Analyze school health records and reports in order to develop and/or modify health programs to meet healthcare needs of school communities.
  • Ensure that state immunization program is managed appropriately in schools as mandated by the MO Department of Health.
  • Provide care in case of illness or injury; provides treatment in accordance with standing medical orders; medication administration, is alert to possible health and safety hazards.
  • Consult and coordinate with referring district LPNs/RNs, staff, school district administrative staff, parents, and the community regarding health issues affecting students in schools.
  • Oversee and manage COVID compliance policies and procedures as needed.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

Must be fully licensed LPN in MO 

Certified in CPR/First Aid 

Experience working with children and adults with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities 

Experience with policy development and implementation 

Eligibility for MO Highway Patrol Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance 

Successful completion of a POET assessment prior to commencement of all applicable positions. If you do not pass, we reserve the right to adjust or rescind any offers as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Licensed RN in MO 
  • Background in case management 
  • Experience providing medical management to individuals with maladaptive behavior 
  • Abuse/Neglect training
