The Location

Surrounded by lush tropical gardens and sparkling blue lagoons, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast offers over 295 guest rooms and suites, award winning restaurants and bars and over 14 conference and meeting spaces, all in an absolute beachfront environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager, the Banquets Manager is responsible to managing the entire Banqueting operation. From boardroom meetings, corporate conferences, cocktail parties and wedding, no two days are the same in this dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring all event specifications are communicated to, and executed by, all hotel operating departments
  • Maintaining constant communication with the Events and Kitchen teams to ensure transparency and seamless delivery across all departments
  • Attending client rundown meetings
  • Responsible for set-up of all functions and meetings to client specifications
  • Responsible for rostering and payroll
  • Producing monthly manpower forecasts, revenue outlooks and participate in yearly budget process with the Director of Events
  • Responsible for recruitment, training and development of all Banquet Associates

Successful candidates will have:

  • Previous hotel Banquets operational experience in a leadership role
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a passion for striving for excellence
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that will see you develop strong rapport with clients, guests and colleagues
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for inspiring, training and developing a team
  • A confident, proactive and thorough problem solver, with strong conflict resolution skills
  • The innate ability to remain calm under pressure when responding to last minute changes
  • Strong financial acumen to effectively monitor and control financial responsibilities
  • Exceptional time management skills will help you in managing competing priorities
  • Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
