Sanitation Lead / Crew Leader / Coordinator

(Day Shift, varying schedule w/ flexibility to work nights/weekends/OT as needed) 

Pay Rate: $16.49/HR

The Sanitation Coordinator position is responsible for production and non-production areas of the plant, as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), working to prevent product contamination and adulteration, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety.

This individual will work close with the Sanitation Supervisor on all aspect of cleaning from the ceilings to the floor and will be trained to operator a forklift and a scissor lift. Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all manufacturing equipment and will use chemicals and power washers to ensure cleanliness, maintain necessary records and sanitation cleaning logs. May also be required to clean office areas, hallways, and locker rooms and break rooms, to include cleanup of trash and vacuum carpets. Clean up outside grounds as needed and snow removal in walkways to the plant. Performs additional related duties as assigned. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Make kettle & extruded schedule
• Make MSS tasks
• Assign tasks due to attendance issues or business changes
• Prepare chemicals & foamers for the kettle cleans
• Prepare chemicals & foamers for the extruded cleans
• Prepare chemicals for COP tank
• Run COP tank for Production drums etc.
• Perform pre-inspection in the kettle processing during kettle cleans
• Perform atp swabs & post inspection in the kettle processing area after the kettle clean
• Assist team members in both kettle & extruded cleans
• Perform pre-inspection of extruded during the extruded cleans
• Perform the quarterly inspection on the foamers & replace any damaged hoses, pumps etc.
• Assist HR in adjusting & approving timecards in the absence of the supervisor
• Take the place of absent employees for attendance or vacation
• Perform the training of new employees
• Perform extra duties when required on days off & holidays etc.
• Perform basic upkeep & maintenance on sanitation equipment Floor scrubber, foamers & dilution stations
• Perform the weekly chemical inventory
• Perform monthly chemical titrations
• Repair or replace damaged dilution station nozzles
• Replace & keep all chemical dilution stations full of chemical
• Assist MRO with Grainger, Cintas & Chemical Orders
• Assist with skills test training

Food Safety

• Follow all Shearer’s processing guidelines and GMPs.
• Avoids injury and damage by practicing superior safety habits.

Food Quality

• Maintains Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in personal hygiene and in the work area.
• Ensure all potatoes are of Shearer’s quality specifications
• Reports any foreign objects in the potatoes.

Occupational Safety

• Responsible to follow Shearer’s Occupational Safety Programs.

Work Environment

• The employee works in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
