SHAWMUT CORPORATION is Hiring a Lab Tech Near West Bridgewater, MA

Description

Position Summary

Perform a variety of tests on company products required to ensure compliance with customer and company quality requirements.

  • Provide laboratory analysis problem solving support as required for new and current programs
  • Support quality engineering activity for sample submission from suppliers and to customer
  •  Operate Laboratory equipment necessary to support company needs
  •  Responsible for gage calibration and maintenance system consistent with the quality system requirements as directed by the Laboratory Supervisor
  •  Provide analysis feedback to production, process, and quality engineering as part of quality improvement
  • Maintain Laboratory environmental and cleanliness standards
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels 
  •  Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming products for deficiency correction
  • Adhere to all company rules and regulations for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety
  • Any additional reasonable request deemed necessary by management

Requirements

  • High School degree required or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or other college experience preferred
  • Solid basic math skills to do lab calculations
  • Solid computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Production and/or testing lab experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
  • Must be able to bend, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate and activate machinery
  • Must be able to differentiate colors and color detail
  • Must be able to tolerate various fragrances and temperature changes; lab can become very warm at times

Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (M-F)

Must be available to train (M-F) from 8 AM-5 PM for a period of 3 to 4 weeks
