Position Title: PARTS ASSISTANT

Reports To: Parts Manager

Position Summary:

Assist in daily sale of parts and maintenance of parts inventory.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Occasionally assist in replenishment of sold inventory.
2. Invoice and file warranty claims with manufacturer, monitoring through credit receipt as required.
3. Assist in maintaining inventory dollar levels.
4. Assist in attainment of sales volume goals.
5. Assist in development of parts consignments.
6. Process customer orders via telephone and over-the-counter.
7. Perform data entry functions pertaining to order entry and invoicing of parts orders.
8. Process shop requisitions and shop returns for work orders.
9. Assist service personnel with parts procurement
10. Complete service van inventory replenishment on established restock days.
11. Receive parts shipments from factory into computer inventory and place on shelves.
12. Occasionally assist with packing and shipping outgoing parts orders.
13. Maintain all parts files.
14. Match parts department vendor invoices with purchase orders and receivers and forward to management for approval.
15. Assist in year-end inventory. Input data pertaining to count into computer system. Prepare reports for accounting department.
16. Work with all departments and employees to ensure quality of customer service.

Special Skills Needed:

Technical aptitude in relation to industry. Excellent communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Prior experience with inventory control systems similar to EBS is preferred. Good customer service skills. Must maintain acceptable driving record.

Physical Job Demands:

• Occasional push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Lifting devices and/or asking for assistance is recommended for anything in excess of 50 lbs., or more
• Frequent standing
• Occasional bending, stooping and kneeling
• Frequent exposure to various chemicals, such as hydraulic& brake fluid, chemical degreasers, and lubricants
• Occasionally be able to climb ladders, work on elevated platforms that may be 15’ to 30’ in height
• Activities require handling and grasping with the hands.

Position is: Salaried (Non-Exempt)

Education Required: High School Diploma. Technical School desirable

Experience Required: Prior forklift (or auto) parts counter experience desired.

Good attendance, including a timely arrival each day, is an essential function of this position.
