JOB TITLE: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

SUMMARY:

This position has critical areas of responsibility for supporting daily inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods in Bellwood, Illinois. Including facility warehouse management, equipment maintenance, material and staff management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Warehouse Manager:
    • Receive daily picking orders
    • Communicate sensitive shipping instructions and time frames with relevant parties.
    • Meet or exceed schedule dates set by sales orders.
    • Communicate when schedule dates will be missed to ensure customers are properly informed.
  • Recording of Shipments: To be accurate and up to date and properly entered into the system.
  • Handling Inbound and Outbound Paperwork: Ensuring packing slips are accurate, proper address and delivery method to correctly ship to customer including special instructions.
  • Maintaining Inventory: Proper removal of finished goods from self for outbound shipping. Unpacking and proper storage of inbound items to be inventoried.
  • Packaging: Oversee proper boxing, labeling, to ensure a safe journey of items to customer. Maintain proper levels of packaging materials for team.
  • Arranging Pick-Up: Maintain ideal time frame for daily pick-up of Fed-Ex and UPS. Also, any third-party transportation requests.
  • Forklift Experience: Has forklift experience maneuvering around in tight quarters and the knowledge of using a scan gun to move inventory.
  • Client Care Service: Communicate status of packages in motion and expected delivery dates and any outbound sample requests for delivery.
  •  Staff: Ensure team has a safe working and proper environment. Can flex staff accordingly based on daily workload.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and write in Spanish is a plus, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
