SHALLENBERGER CONSTRUCTION is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Connellsville, PA

Heavy Equipment Operator
Position responsibilities include:

  • Working with 1-10 crew members
  • Operating and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment, from skid steers to large excavators, dozers, rock trucks, and compactors
  • Ability to work outdoors all year
  • Understanding civil drawings, earthwork and underground utility construction
  • Experience with laser and GPS equipment set up and operations
  • Capable of keeping records of job receipts, work completed such as dirt moved, loads hauled, and feet of pipe installed.
  • Ability to have set goals for each day and complete them on schedule.
  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly
  • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
  • Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
  • Observe distribution of grading material to adjust machine settings or material flow, and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
  • Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to show up 10-15 minutes before shift time will start every working day.
  • Ability to work some Saturdays throughout the year.
  • Ability to download a Time Record App on a smart phone to clock in and out each day.
