NCC is seeking a problem-solving Commissions Analyst (1099 Payroll) to add to our growing team. This role will work with large data sets from various sources to ensure accurate reporting and payments to our independent agents and agencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • effectively navigate multiple CRMs (Customer Relations Management systems), ERP software, and multiple websites
  • have a knack for reporting and data analysis
  • follow up by email or phone promptly, clearly, and professionally, with proper grammar and spelling
  • work quickly and knowledgeably with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • effectively organize and prioritize, meet deadlines, and deliver results
  • compile and analyze large amounts of data, remain up to date on changes or trends in that information, and be able to clearly and accurately present that information to others
  • must have the ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential material in a reliable and professional manner

Responsibilities

  • downloads, formats, imports, and analyzes commission reports from numerous insurance carriers
  • assist Finance team with accounts payable and payroll as needed
  • processes commission data via our internal payment system
  • supplies financial data for processing commission payments
  • utilizes internal reporting, carrier reporting, and Excel to evaluate data accuracy and identify discrepancies or payment issues from carriers
  • communicates with Accounting, Onboarding, and Contracting teams, as well as insurance carriers, to regularly streamline processes, ensure accuracy, and resolve commission questions in a timely and accurate fashion
  • handles commission issues and provides resolution, escalating issues as necessary
  • works closely with Contracting and Accounting to ensure accurate tax status setup for agent 1099 and reconcile chargebacks and marketing assistance balances
  • manually calculates agent payments as needed
  • completes special assignments or projects as requested by leadership
  • demonstrates and highlights NCC’s value proposition continually, assisting internal staff and agents as needed
  • collaborates across SFG and NCC for process improvements, cross-training, and to increase the value we offer to agents and agencies

Basic Job Requirements

  • AS or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, or payroll processing
  • must be comfortable performing mathematical calculations and auditing data
  • effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • positive attitude and the ability to work well with others 
  • data analysis experience
  • high level of technology/business acumen
  • able to quickly and expertly locate and organize information for others in an intuitive manner
  • computer and internet proficiency, especially proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • expert-level Excel skills
  • proficient communication in English (verbal and written); excellent grammar and spelling
  • experience with online training platforms and videoconferencing tools, e.g., Teams, WebEx, GoToMeeting, Zoom

Preferred Qualifications

  • experience with high-volume 1099 payroll processing
  • experience working with a CRM (Customer Relations Management system) or comparable database
  • understanding of the insurance carrier-agent-client ecosystem
  • knowledge of insurance commissions
  • experience with Agency Bloc CRM
  • experience with a Field Marketing Organization (FMO) or insurance carrier

Compensation

Hourly plus bonus

This position requires interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting. To best serve our customers on the phone, face-to-face, or the computer, all employees must be able to communicate with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the team member must be able to sit for extended periods (position is primarily sedentary) and be able to enter information by keyboard at a reasonable rate of speed. This role requires acute hearing ability, seeing and reading information on a computer screen and printed documents, speaking, understanding, and writing English fluently, and performing repetitive hand motions.
