Service Coordination Unlimited Inc is Hiring a Program Director Near Pittsburgh, PA

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Program Director is responsible for the oversight of all operations of the funded programs, supervises professional staff, oversees participant enrollment and transfers, and assures compliance with funder requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to budget planning, staff development and leadership using the coach approach, mediation/de-escalation, and legal compliance with all SCU standards and Program regulations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate and oversee the general operations of the ODP/Autism Department.
  2. Maintains working knowledge of SCU, funding source and accreditation agencies’ policies, regulations, requirements, directives and Provider Standards and reinforce adherence with program staff.
  3. Assure compliance with funder and Accreditation agencies’ requirements. Oversee program audits and audit corrective action plans. With Human Resources and Quality Management, assist in developing the necessary training and guidance to ensure compliance. Write and submit corrective action plan in response to funder monitoring, if necessary, and ensure follow through of plan correction.
  4. Assure provision of quality services and overall participant satisfaction with program.
  5. Supervise and evaluate Program Managers.
  6. With Quality Management team, ensure program is audit-ready at all times; regularly conduct internal evaluation of service provision and compliance, at least annually
  7. Monitor and ensure Program Managers have the knowledge of programs and services relative to participant’s needs.
  8. Attend State and County Contractor meetings, provider meetings and training, when needed.
  9. Ensure that regulation and requirement changes are executed and in place across the program.
  10. With Human Resources, ensure that all training requirements are fulfilled within training developed and met by all program staff.
  11. Review that internal systems in place are appropriate to meet the needs of the program to ensure the accuracy of participant information
  12. Assist Program Managers in the disciplinary process as needed.
  13. Provide assistance to Program Managers and Supports Coordinators with complex issues as they arise. Address problems and grievances as needed; consult with CEO when appropriate.
  14. Assist with completing and/or reviewing EIM, APS, and other reports.
  15. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  16. Identify leading and lagging indicators, track and monitor the program performance of the division and develop strategies when performance levels are off track. Report on this no less than quarterly during a Program Director meeting.
  17. Assists Finance Department in ensuring accurate and timely billing, as necessary.
  18. Ensure program complies with internal and external fraud and abuse processes, all open cases find resolution, and are finalized in applicable systems.
  19. With Human Resources, ensure adequate staffing ratios are in place to meet program needs
  20. Conduct regularly scheduled department meetings and trainings.
  21. Act as a liaison and assure positive and productive working relationship with funders, community agencies, and assists with specific needs of the program in accordance with program requirements and community outreach efforts.
  22. Conduct or assist with consumer assessments/reassessments and other service delivery requirements as needed
  23. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, gerontology or another behavioral science AND
  • 4 years experience in conducting psychosocial assessments, supervision, administration of human service programs providing publicly funded benefits, and personal or professional experience with daily living issues for people with intellectual disabilities/autism.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working within the PA Office of Developmental Programs and Adult Autism waivers
  • LSW, LMHP or RN

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Good computer skills including Word, Excel and Adobe. Due to meeting schedules and participant needs, must be able to accommodate travel to remote locations. Valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Works a typical scheduled shift, plus any additional hours as needed to meet participant/department/program needs
  • Works in an office environment most of the time: at a desk sitting or standing.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision
  • Works with a computer terminal/keyboard (or laptop) a good portion of the day, thus requiring visual perception, hand-eye coordination and hand movement/flexibility
  • Maximum weight to be lifted independently is 5 - 20 pounds
  • This position requires the following physical demands: reaching, stretching, stooping, sitting, walking, repeated bending and/or standing
  • Must be able to operate equipment or machinery (e.g., photocopier and computer).
  • Must be able to answer ringing telephones and communicate with people both on the telephone and in person
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a dependable means of transportation. Position may include travel off public transportation routes
  • Must be able to meet the following demands: reading, reasoning, organization, math, and problem-solving; decision-making, close attention to detail, facts and accuracy
  • Must be disciplined in maintaining the following: detailed work, prioritization, multiple concurrent tasks, interruptions, stress; confidentiality, training, and public speaking
  • Tasks vary day-to-day

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Majority of duties performed in climate controlled office environment with some duties performed in Participants’ homes.
