Position Summary:

This position is to support the operations department with janitorial functions as well as coordinate the activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premise. To ensure the successful and timely completion of cleaning buildings; and to maintain an attractive, sanitary and safe environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cleanliness with a focus on detail.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assign tasks to workers based on job requirements or special assignments which also includes passing along special instructions from the night supervisor.
• Inspect all completed work for conformance to Service by Medallion and client standards (Q.A).
• Order and issue supplies and equipment.
• Train new workers and oversee on-going training of existing employees.
• Responsible for cleaning an assigned area that includes but not limited to the following:
  • Dusting desks, chairs, counters, blinds and furniture, cleaning lobbies, reception areas, break rooms or other assigned areas. Dusting, vacuuming, spot cleaning, emptying wastebaskets and recycling bins, and mop floors.
• Assist custodial staff for special projects and/or perform any open job for which coverage is necessary due to departmental absences
• Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
• Clean using appropriate methods, equipment and chemicals
• Attendance and Punctuality essential function of the position as it requires face to face interaction.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products and equipment.
• Must be able to read and communicate both verbally and written in English/Spanish.
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to work as a team or individually
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to lit up to 25-pounds
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must have janitorial experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. 35%;
• Requires extensive use of hands (ability to reach over, bend and extend hands) 35%;
• Reach above and below shoulder height, constant walking, standing in one place for long periods of time, bending, stooping, lifting, kneeling, etc. 55%;
• Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
• Requires exposure to noise and dirt when at a site location and frequent exposure to loud noise from duplicators and binding equipment.
• Requires frequent travel between several Medallion sites, being exposed to various weather conditions (internal & external parts of a building); responsible for providing own transportation.
• A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose a strain on a routine basis; new account installations, month-end work, customer deadlines, assisting in proposal writing and survey reviews impose a strain on a regular basis
