Serenity Pediatrics is Hiring a Registered Nurse - Pediatrics Near Bloomfield, MI

We have recently expanded our office and are looking to add an RN to our growing clinical team!

Title of Position: Registered Nurse

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse will work alongside the office physicians and nurse practitioners to assist with the care of patients in the office. Under the direction of the Clinical Manager and Practice Manager, the Registered Nurse will aid the clinical staff by performing various administrative and clinical tasks as listed below and any other delegated tasks, as determined by management.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patient rooms for the day; stock patient rooms with required supplies
  • Room patients in exam rooms according to Standardized Patient Rooming Procedure
  • Take patient vital signs including: weight, height or length, blood pressure
  • Administer vision screening and hearing tests
  • Obtain capillary blood samples via finger stick and obtain venous samples via venipuncture
  • Obtain throat and nasal swabs and perform routine urinalysis
  • Prepare samples for transport to outside laboratory (including urine cultures, throat swabs, blood)
  • Assist with referrals as needed
  • Prepare and administer immunizations as ordered by physician
  • Determine patient eligibility for immunizations based on insurance
  • Communicate with physician and other clinical staff to ensure a smooth flow of daily operations
  • Record all completed tasks and patient information in EMR
  • Triage patient concerns and questions via telephone triage calls
  • Follow-up with patients after urgent care, emergency room visit or hospitalizations
  • Manage and enter patient’s laboratory results from outside laboratory
  • Opening and closing of laboratory and completing laboratory quality control testing as needed
  • Any additional clinical or administrative tasks as determined by office needs or policies

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of knowledge, skills, and ability required.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; current state of Michigan RN licensure; related work experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or control; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock, radiation, and exposure to infectious diseases.
