Serco North America is Hiring a Remote Strategic Communications Specialist

Position Description

If you love working as part of a collaborative team and want to help customers with strategic communications, then this job is the place for you! As a Strategic Communications Specialist, you will apply your knowledge of Federal programs and operations to support you will apply your knowledge and skillsets to support the Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Corporate Operations & Total Force Directorate (SEA 10) in establishing and improving efficient and effective strategic communications. Join the team in the Washington, DC area!

Serco supports the US Navy, NAVSEA HR and Command Administration Center, which provides the highest quality of administrative services with timely results, relieving our Sailors and service employees of administrative burdens to keep them focused on the command mission of delivering fully capable strategic deterrent assets back to sea on-time.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic communication subject matter expertise as part of our team
  • Work closely with Program and Project Managers at SEA 10 to identify strategic communication needs and develop innovative solutions and quality products
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and refine a communication strategy to support various programs across the organization to effectively describe and promote initiatives, events, and products using strategic communications models, methods, and tools customized to fit the customer’s needs
  • Develop and monitor measurable strategic communications goals that align with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and yearly goals
  • Plan and conduct market research to advance the organization’s strategic framework and marketing objectives
  • Use innovative marketing and branding strategies to assist the organization with building/improving customer relationships
  • Analyze existing communication avenues for improvement opportunities
  • Build a culture of communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist program and project leads with identifying communications needs and resources
  • Interact daily with program and project leads to advise, develop, and provide creative and measurable communications and marketing plans
  • Develop quality presentations and briefs for senior leadership that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products and services
  • Develop and disseminate quality communication products using various communication platforms for the purposes of conveying messages to the organization’s workforce
  • Write, edit, review, and support the release of internal communication documentation
  • Assess overall strategic communications performance

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree (or experience in lieu of degree)
  • 5 years of overall experience
  • 2 years of experience working with DoD organizations
  • Experience working in fast paced environments and in large groups
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Creative and strategic application of digital and social media technologies
  • Experience and expertise in marketing, media relations, public affairs, crisis communications, issues management, social media, and public relations
